Cigar was honored at Churchill downs on Saturday November 9, 1996 in a ceremony to
mark the end of the great horse's racing career, and the beginning of his career
as a breeding stallion. Trainer Bill Mott walked Cigar over for saddling and back to his
barn after the ceremony. Jockey Jerry Bailey galloped Cigar down the stretch and jogged back
to the Winner's Circle. At the Winner's Circle, Cigar received gifts from Kentucky dignitaries.
